Back On Repeat

Free YouTube looper that counts your plays

Back On Repeat is a free web app for looping YouTube songs, or just one section of a song, on repeat. Unlike a plain loop button, it remembers how many times you've played each song.

Put any YouTube video on repeat, from a song you can't stop playing to a few seconds of a guitar part you're learning.

Every completed loop counts as a play. Your history keeps the count and the time you've spent listening, so months later you can still see which songs you had on repeat. There are no ads, and you don't need an account.

How to use it

  1. Copy the link of any YouTube video.
  2. Paste it into the box on the Back On Repeat home page. You can also search for the song.
  3. The video starts and repeats until you stop it.
  4. To loop only part of it, drag the two handles under the video. See how to loop part of a YouTube video.

There's a shortcut too. On any YouTube video, change youtube.com to backonrepeat.com in the address bar and press Enter.

Questions

Is Back On Repeat free?

Yes. It's free and there are no ads. You don't need an account, and signing in is free too.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone's browser, so there's nothing to install. The video has to stay on screen while it plays, because YouTube doesn't allow background playback.

Does it download the video?

No. Videos play in YouTube's own embedded player and stay on YouTube. Back On Repeat only keeps track of your plays.

Why not just use YouTube's own loop?

YouTube's loop repeats the whole video and doesn't remember anything. Back On Repeat can loop just one part of a video, and it counts every play so you can see what you've had on repeat. If you only need a quick loop, here's how to loop a video on YouTube itself.
